Day 143/366 – my NutriSystem weight loss bears

April 10, 2008 – I didn’t lose all the weight on NutriSystem (I lost most of the weight on Atkins), but I wanted bears to represent ALL my weight loss, no matter which diet. I still have two more bears waiting for me in my closet – the 70 lb. bear and the goal bear.
Weight Loss

I officially began the paleo diet on January 10, 2011, and weighed 156.5 pounds on that day. I followed that diet for 6 months, and I lost 49.3 pounds in that period.
Modus operandi:
- Avoided carbs (including starches) and sugars, entirely where possible
- Mostly ate raw fruit (not blended, no juice), cooked meat, nuts, and eggs. Mostly avoided cheese. Generally followed advice on www.marksdailyapple.com/
- Most frequent foods: bananas, raw almonds, raw pistachios, bacon
- Reduced calories to 800-1000 per day
- To ward off sugar cravings, drank diet soda and chewed gum
- Diet deviation mostly happened in the form of occasional beer or glass of wine
- Exercise was light to moderate: walking, hang gliding, some weight-lifting

Somaya Reece – Weight loss tips that work (protein shakes & eating habits) 22 comments
For healthy recipes VISIT: www.MissReece.com I’m tired of reading all of these false diets and false weight loss tips that are NOT ideal for real people. Real people have jobs, not enough time to workout, and cannot spend money on all of these phony fad diets. I lost over 21 pounds and am still losing without dieting. I started focusing on losing weight last year a little before September of 2011. It took a few months to get into a fully focused mode. When I focused I lost the weight! I didn’t gain weight because I was eating bad. When I moved to New York it became extremely difficult to work out because the lifestyle is so different here as opposed to LA where I hike everyday. I didn’t do it with a diet or pills and I was able to keep my curves. It’s been a fun transformation for me. I had a “make under” 6 weeks ago, a breast reduction. I haven’t been able to work out, because of it I had to learn to adjust my eating to maintain the weight I have lost which is what motivated me to share my journey in these wight loss blogs. This first blog I discuss protein shakes, bars, cooking and the unfortunate Hollywood pressure many women suffer which makes them want to get skinny or alter their bodies to fit in. Get healthy not skinny! I have also added a few before and after pics. I know those are always helpful. I hope you enjoy my series of weight loss blogs. This is one of many to come

Social Media Signals

www.intersectionconsulting.comInspired by David Armano and The Dachis Group’s meta-filter concept. There is a need for organizations to develop processes that go beyond the tools, to hear (and act on) relevant signals in the sea of social media noise.
The concept of meta-filtering signals and having strategies/resources in place to act on those signals in a meaningful way, adds an important new dimension to social media strategy for business.
Social media and target analysis from a sociographic point of view

Social media technologies offer the possibility to deeply understand target and to generate several kinds of insight from listening activity. Those insights are used to definea detailed profile for main clusters of communication and marketing initiatives.
Social Media Break Time

www.intersectionconsulting.comWith organizations banning social networks and, simultaneously, sales of smartphones on the rise, it’s likely that employees will seek to feed their social media addictions on their mobile devices. What used to be cigarette breaks could turn into "social media breaks" as long as there is a clear signal and IT isn’t looking. As a result, we may see more and/or better mobile versions of our favorite social drug of choice. (David Armano)

Question by jenessa: Some good teeth whitening home remedies that work fast?
I have recently found that i cannot use the normal mouthwash and the type that says whitening anywhere on it because an ingredient in it causes my throat to swell. okay first you need to get tooth paste (im sure you have some)
get baking soda ( ask your parents)
mix the soda(baking soda) into the paste (tooth paste)
after a couple brushes you can see that you teeth is whiter.
and you can barley taste the baking soda in the paste.
make sure you rinse out just like what you would do when you brush your teeth.

No Video Games For Him

Was wandering around the UAE market in Banani when I found this ‘tokai’ (street kid) wandering around as well.
It struck me that this kid will never get to play the video games displayed in the stores there. Nor will he ever get education or any other basic amenities for that matter.
So, here he is in front a store with all sorts of GBA, PSP, PS3 and Xbox 360 games that I grew up with.
Note: this was an impromptu shot. I know the composition is a bit ‘off’.

Q&A: How does social media help writers today? 2 comments
Question by MR. THINKER!: How does social media help writers today?
With social media being such a helpful tool for so many artists these days, namely musicians, how come the same can’t be said for unpublished writers?

In my opinion, it can be used to benefit the few of us that are unrecognized. I think it’s great for getting opinions on your work. That’s just me, though…
